WASHINGTON, DC, December 11, 2015 – Whistleblower attorneys Mary Louise Cohen and Erika Kelton, both partners at Phillips & Cohen LLP, were selected to the 2016 Super Lawyers list for Washington, DC, by Super Lawyers magazine.
Cohen, a founding partner of Phillips & Cohen, has been called the “queen of qui tam” and has represented whistleblowers in many significant qui tam cases, including one that Quest Diagnostics paid $302 million to settle. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (TAFEF) in 2013.
Kelton has set records in her work on whistleblower cases, including a $3 billion settlement with GlaxoSmithKline, which is the largest healthcare fraud settlement ever. She won for an international whistleblower the largest Securities and Exchange Commission whistleblower award, which totaled more than $32 million.
Both whistleblower attorneys have received widespread recognition for their work. Earlier this year, Cohen and Kelton were named to Lawdragon magazine’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America.” Kelton also was included in Ethisphere’s select list of “Attorneys Who Matter” for 2015.
Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers that bases its selections on independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Only 5% of lawyers in Washington, DC, received the distinction.
