The SEC announced awards of more than $98 million to two whistleblowers whose information and assistance led to an SEC enforcement action and an action brought by another agency.

“Today’s enforcement action shows the immeasurable resource whistleblowers provide as an added enforcement tool to help the SEC fight financial fraud and return funds to harmed investors,” said Sean McKessy, the first Chief of the SEC Office of the Whistleblower and the principal architect of the SEC whistleblower program.
“The public-private partnership between the SEC and private citizens works to combat fraud.”
