Whistleblower law firm Phillips & Cohen recognized on “Best Law Firms” list

WASHINGTON, DC, November 1, 2018 – US News & World Report and bestlawyers.com have named Phillips & Cohen LLP to its annual list of U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” for 2019 for its work representing whistleblowers in healthcare cases.

Phillips & Cohen is ranked as a “Tier 1” law firm in healthcare law in the Washington, DC, region on the “Best Law Firms” list.

US News says the “Best Law Firms” are chosen for their “professional excellence with consistently impressive ratings from clients and peers” and describes the rankings as “rigorous and discerning.”

The tier designation, according to US News, reflects the high level of respect a firm has among other leading lawyers and clients in the same communities and practice areas.

Phillips & Cohen’s whistleblower cases have set records, including the two largest healthcare fraud settlements to date: a $3 billion settlement by GlaxoSmithKline and a $2.3 billion settlement from Pfizer Inc.

Last year, a Phillips & Cohen whistleblower case helped recover $9.95 million in a fraud settlement by Rotech, an oxygen equipment supplier, while another Phillips & Cohen case won court-ordered penalties totaling $114 million as part of a multi-whistleblower healthcare kickback case against blood-testing laboratories, their marketing partners and some of their executives.

In addition, a CBS program spotlighting whistleblowers featured two healthcare whistleblowers we represented in separate cases. One involved electronic health records, which eClinicalWorks paid the government $155 million to settle. The other was against Cephalon, which the pharma company paid $425 million to settle.

Phillips & Cohen is the most successful law firm representing whistleblowers and has the longest running practice dedicated solely to representing whistleblowers. Our firm’s whistleblower cases have helped recover more than $12.3 billion for taxpayers and investors, and our clients have won more than $1 billion in rewards.
